Specialist Registrar in Cardiology and Intensive Care. An MOD doctor with wide experience in dealing with prehospital combat casualties in arduous conditions. Founded a similar scheme in Scotland in 1988, joining BASICS Hampshire in 2000. Main interests: prehospital management of acute coronary syndromes, resuscitation and delivery of prehospital critical care. |

Dr Louisa Chan
Secretary for BASICS Hampshire
Based in North Hampshire, Louisa is a consultant in both Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care. She passed the diploma in Immediate Medical Care in 2000 (RCSEd) and has been active in pre-hospital care since 2003 when she worked with the Physician Response Unit at the Royal London Hospital. Main interests: critical care and investigating international pre-hospital response. |

Funding Officer for BASICS Hampshire
Lynne has worked tirelessly for BASICS Hampshire virtually since its inception. She is constantly looking for new ways of raising funds to keep the doctors on the roads, saving lives. She spreads the word about what BASICS Hampshire does with inspiring talks, while also fundraising herself. |

Dr Brando Tamayo
Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Royal Navy, Staff Anaesthetist and Hyperbaric Physician, MoD Hospital Unit, Portsmouth. Brando regularly serves on the Medical Emergency Response Team wherever the British forces are, currently Afghanistan. He brings those intensive pre-hospital skills back to benefit the critically injured and ill in Hampshire in his work for BASICS Hampshire. Uses a motorbike packed with kit to get to them faster. |

Bruce Armstrong
Training Officer for BASICS Hampshire
Consultant nurse at Basingstoke & North Hampshire hospital. The second motorbike rider in the BASICS Hampshire response team. Inspirational speaker and dedicated to making sure the team have the best training they can in the testing circumstances of pre-hospital critical care. |

Dr Rob Dawes
Specialist Registrar in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care, currently at Southampton General. Rob is a member of the UK International Search and Rescue (UKISAR) team and an advisor to the UN on search and rescue. He was the first doctor to qualify in the 4-year training programme in pre-hospital care at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He helped train the Hampshire Fire and Rescue extrication team, which became world champions in 2007. Also an active member of the Forces Medical Emergency Response Team. |
