BASICS Hampshire is a charity made up of 20 medical professionals who in their own time and unpaid, volunteer to provide advanced medical care outside of the hospital. This means that hospital level care, which some seriously ill or injured people require, is available at the scene of an incident and continues all the way to the hospital. This service is only made possible by the dedication and efforts of our volunteer doctors.

BASICS Hampshire had 1200 requests for a doctor at the scene of road traffic accidents and other out of hospital incidents in 2007. We were able to respond to 750 of these.
